Hannah & Jonathan’s Apostolic wedding near Seattle was such a romantic day! The December weather was perfect for us (yes, a December wedding in Washington!), the sun shone perfectly and their ceremony certainly left no dry eye (including mine!)
Having known Hannah & Jonathan previously, it made this wedding even more sentimental for me. Their journey has by no means been easy, but it was worth the wait! And hearing them sing those lyrics to each other right before their vows was the perfect anthem to begin their life together.
The morning was foggy and the air chilly (by the time I was done with details, I couldn’t feel my fingers!), but the sun peeked out perfectly which made for a gorgeous morning! I began photographing Hannah’s details of her gorgeous white satin and lace etched gown. Along with that was her stunning white heels and the prettiest bouquet of flowers. She chose white, dusty rose, mauve and hints of plum for her day. Her bridesmaids wore dusty rose and both maid of honor’s in plum. The guys sported gray suits while Jonathan chose a classy blue.
Hannah chose to do a first look with her bridesmaids and it was adorable! If you’re thinking about doing a first look with your bridesmaids, I highly recommend! The smiles and laughter from your girls is the sweetest thing.
We then did a first look with her dad and brothers and wow, such an amazing moment! If you’re thinking of doing a first look with your dad and you have brothers, include them too!
The ceremony was filled with a series of events including a surprise song from the bride to her father. There was also a song sung by maid of honor, Ashley, and a song by the bride’s brother and sister. The ministers that attended their wedding spoke to the couple which I thought was incredibly wise of Hannah & Jonathan. I think it’s so important to honor the ministry and to have them say their words of wisdom over the couple is the best way to begin your marriage.
The bride and groom also sang to each other and I have to say it was the sweetest part of the ceremony. Not even the men could keep the tears at bay!
They had a large bridal party with 7 on each side. Working with a large bridal party is a ton of fun! It’s never boring and they know how to keep the laughter going. The sun peeked through those gorgeous Washington trees perfectly during their bridal party portraits and this Texas native was in love!
We headed up the path for their bride & groom portraits and I have to say, being from Dallas it’s not often that a church property is surrounded by gorgeous tall trees that let in perfect light! Typically here in Dallas all you might see are more buildings, gas stations, convenience stores… etc. Chances are, a church is probably next to something completely unattractive or surrounded by thick trees that let in no light. So being able to capture portraits right there on the church property was a joy to my photographers heart! It was a stunning location and if anyone needs me back in Washington to shoot a wedding, I’m there!!
Their reception was the perfect way to end the day. Seeing all of their friends and family greet them and give their wishes was incredibly important to me. The support and love this couple has is undeniable.
Hannah & Jonathan’s Apostolic wedding near Seattle was an absolute honor to capture. The fact that they had me come all the way from Texas to be there on their special day was a delight and I am SO thankful I was able to be a part! I can’t wait to head back in January to capture the grooms sisters wedding!
Thank you Jon & Hannah!
