Asiah and Michael’s engagement session at the Monahans Sandhills was a dream come true! Monahans Sandhills is a beautiful wonder located out in west Texas, just outside of Odessa. Planning their engagement session at just the right time to capture the gorgeous sunset was the most important part of pre-planning. Keeping sunset time in mind is one of the most important parts in planning an engagement session.

When Asiah first brought up the idea of a Monahans Sandhills engagement session, I instantly jumped at the idea. It had always been her dream to have an engagement session at a location like the Monahans Sandhills. I have also been dreaming of photographing here for such a long time, so we made it happen. Our dreams were almost dashed when a winter storm hit Texas just a few day before, but it cleared up just in time! It’s a 12 hour drive round drip from Dallas, but I didn’t let that phase me!

It’s almost impossible to believe that the Monahans Sandhills is in Texas as you won’t find anything like it anywhere else within the state’s borders. It really is a majestic feeling being surrounded by the peaks and valley’s of sand. It’s the perfect location for an engagement session as it really allows the couple to shine!

You will be hard pressed to find a sweeter, more genuine couple than Asiah and Michael. They were both such a dream to work with. Their warm smiles came in great competition with the golden sunset! I feel so honored they chose me to be a part of this special season in their life and can’t wait for their April wedding!!
