You know those wedding days when you just can’t stop smiling? Everything is beautiful, the people are so kind and the couple so in love. You just can’t help it. That’s exactly how I felt at Alyssa and Matthew’s colorful, jewel-toned fall wedding in Tacoma, WA.
It was the a beautiful September day upon arrival to Alyssa and Matthew’s wedding day. Washington is one of my favorite places to shoot and this time did not disappoint. We began with their gorgeous details which included the most perfect tie that matched the colors of the day so perfectly.
Alyssa’s first look with her dad was the sweetest moment to witness. There was a window above the ceremony area that provided gorgeous light. It perfectly hallowed them as her dad saw her for the first time on her wedding day.
The ceremony began promptly and we experienced some pretty fun surprises! Alyssa loves confetti and wanted to incorporate it into her day. She had “cannon boys” pop confetti on their way down the aisle. It was such a fun yet different experience and I always encourage my brides to add small touches to their day of things that they really love or enjoy. As Alyssa came down the aisle with the biggest smile on her face, Matthew couldn’t help but tear up. Seriously one of my favorite moments of a wedding day! Next, beautiful yet extremely meaningful words were spoken by Matthew’s grandfather who is also Alyssa and Matthew’s Pastor. It was a quick yet well thought out ceremony and ended with more confetti pops after the couples’ first kiss.
We then headed out to Ruston Way for their bride and groom portraits. Honestly, it was so easy to capture these two. The love shown between them was a great joy to capture and that is exactly what inspires me to keep doing what I do. To be able to preserve these sweet moments for my couples through their images!
Their reception was held at Farm 12, a cute farm-like venue and restaurant with an elevated, almost modern feel. The food was great, the fellowship better and their sparkler exit ended on such a sweet note as Matthew swept Alyssa into his arms and carried her away into the limousine.
Alyssa and Matthew, it was an honor to be a part of your special day! I truly am so excited for what God has in store for you two!
